SelfIsolation CoronaVirus.jpg

While an extreme precautionary measure to deal with the outbreak of Coronavirus is to be in self-isolation, but it is easier said than done. Social distancing is increasing the possibility of loneliness among people, which itself is considered as a social health crisis. Thus, it becomes important to engage yourself in various activities that will make you feel productive and socially connected to your friends.

So, here are some of the ways which will help you stay sane and social during the days of self-isolation:

Have virtual movie nights with your friends

Do you miss going out for movies with your crazy gang or catching up at a friend’s place to Netflix and chill? If the answer is an obvious YES! Then thanks to today’s technology, we already have a perfect solution to this problem. With Netflix Party, you can link up with your friends and enjoy a movie or a show with them at the same time. You will not feel the virtual barriers at all with this interesting feature and won’t feel bored because of self-isolation.

Great time to work on your fitness

You may miss your gym or your regular aerobics classes, but this does not mean you have to stay away from working on your fitness. Many trainers have resorted to online workout sessions, which means you can still invest your time towards your good health. You can also host an online dance or workout session with your friends where you can have fun and workout with your friends over any video chatting application. You can also try your hands on various healthy recipes and start blogging about them.

Try to follow a routine

It is difficult to stick to a routine, especially when you have nowhere to go. You feel lazy during the day and unproductive at the end of the day. Therefore, try to follow a comfortable routine, similar to what you would follow on a regular working day. Think of alternative ideas that can be implemented in place of going out. This may sound a monotonous option, but it is actually the best option for your mental health.

Plan a virtual dining night with your friends and family

We’re very well aware of the matter that to let go of our loneliness; we can connect anytime with the people we love through video calling. But we can also take it to another level by properly dressing up and then have dinner nights with our friends and family. This will be a decent alternative to go out for dinner nights.

Invest your precious time doing an online course

This is a nice time to build up your resume by signing up for online courses from various prestigious universities like MIT, Harvard, Berkeley, etc. Some of the courses are free, but some come with a fee for the certificate. You can use this time to expand your knowledge base and learn something new with each passing day. The soothing feeling of satisfaction at the end of the day will make you look forward to the next day in a pleasant way.

Thus, every cloud has a silver lining, and now it is up to you to find your silver lining by engaging yourself in activities that will make you feel less lonely and more socially involved.
