Hydrophonics Farming in India and Technology

Hydrophonics Farming

Agricultural advancement:  The base of Indian economy stands upon agricultural dependency. Basically in India the development in agricultural field caused after green revolution throughout North India alongside indo-Gangaeic plain. With this regard India observed the revolutionary, incredible increasing of the productions of larger quantities of food, multiple cropping methods, chemical fertilizers, pesticides and agricultural industries. But as it is harmful for human being and environment, recent advancement seeks for organic, natural, pesticide-free vegetables, food and corn. Hydrophonics farming is one of the main and emerging agricultural methods that helps both in consuming natural food and saving out planet from farther pollution. After that, India experiences drastic increasing in crop production. This eventually will lead the country imbibing scientific technologies to be self-sufficient to avoid mass famine and starvation.

What is hydroponics: A fair idea of this method comes from the very word ‘hydroponics’ that describes a agricultural method without soil, mainly in water or sand and without chemicals or pesticides. Hydrophonics means the process of growing plants in watery solution. According to Mr. Howard M. Resh: “The hanging gardens of Babylon, the floating gardens of the Aztecs of Mexico and those of the Chinese are examples of ‘Hydroponic’ culture. Egyptian hieroglyphic records dating back several hundred years B.C. describe the growing of plants in water”. Rather than using traditional soil medium it depends on nutrients like a  mineral rich water solution and enough sunlight.

Processes: Deep water culture(DWC) method is one of the easiest processes of hydroponics. In this case the roots of the plants are left wide into the water and aquarium air pump prevents the plants from drowning. Nutrient Film Technique(NFT) is a type of hydroponic system where a continuous flow of nutrient solution are provided through the roots of the plants. This solution is provided rapidly so that it flows with the force of gravity. Drip system works when a slow nutrient solution is provided through the plants as a slow draining medium. These are the processes for large production and demands of organic foods. For small scale or home-based needs there are wicking process and aerophonic process and others.

Effects and Future: The very process of this agriculture or the product, received out of hydroponics farming is neither harmful for human being nor for the environment. Even the aquarium which is used for this plantation is also full of consequences. The usages of higher technics and scientific studies lead to this progressive arrangement of balance between human needs and environmental awareness. The opportunities of using the processes of hydroponics rapidly increase in places like  Bangalore and Gurgaon are massive. Indoor farming is soon to be a part of the future for hydroponics farming in India in sake of proper, healthy meal. Hydroponics farming in Tamilnadu and southern states in India will is turning towards hyper-localized food factories. And from the rural areas those are provided in the metropolitan cities. Industries deals with these natural products and the products can only be produced by the use of grow light systems, climate control, and hydroponics. Currently, indoor farming has great application in extreme weather conditions and controlling pollution. Eliminating the need of huge pesticide use, hydrophonics farming is effectively making our air, water, soil, food and health cleaner. Commercial growers are being attracted to hydroponics more than other agricultural method.  It has great use all over the world such as removing world hunger and making the world cleaner and refreshed. Even ordinary people as a small scale do practising this process for their own organic vegetables and such essentials. Now-a-days gardening is also becoming very famous as personal preference and quite good in practice. Even in schools and colleges, educators are perceiving the need of this amazing applications of hydroponics farming as a part of science and gardening and environmental awareness.

Environmental awareness: As agriculture is in the centre of man’s economic, political, sociocultural well-being, environment therefore is the fundamental source of natural and essential resources. So, we ought to remember the necessities of nurturing our nature and environmental surroundings. Hydrophonics is the process of eco-friendly farming that doesn’t transgress environmental considerations providing the basic human needs. Along with this process, we can consider that we will find a better socio-economical, healthy environment.
