Stress is a natural condition of mental state where people are unable to fit in regular circumstances and specific events. When it comes to the discussion of reducing stress doctors and other health experts commonly suggest yoga, meditation, communication with the most trusted ones, and a few other healthy ways to uplift the mindset.
Undoubtedly these are beneficial techniques for stress relief but communicating with a non-human friend during hard times is something extremely soothing and enjoyable. In fact, sometimes it is helpful for people to create connections with some unusual friends who provide unconditional love with their presence even when they are not able to talk like humans. This is where pets play the role of most trustworthy companions in the lives of humans. According to studies it has been proved that unless a person is not a pet lover or too busy to take care of one, pets are capable of giving emotional strength and social support. When mental health is in a good state physical health naturally tries to cope with certain ailments and remain fresh as well as robust.
Companionship and Emotional Support
The coexistence of humans and pets within a household creates positive vibes and most of the time pets act as partners in helping their owners with different chores. Dogs are worth mentioning in this context. Dogs helping their masters in carrying shopping bags, doing yoga, etc are the most commonly seen examples. A number of photographs and videos are available in different mediums like social networking sites, personal blogs, websites, newspapers, magazines, etc to support the examples of dogs helping their owners. Besides, it is always said that dogs are the most loyal pets to their masters. The concept of “His Master’s Voice” can be cited as one of the finest examples because it reflects the devotion of a dog towards his master. While talking about cats it can be said that cats are very selective about liking or loving people. But undoubtedly regarding expressing their emotions and feelings they are not at all behind dogs. But if comparative research is done to study the behavior of dogs and cats it can be found that dogs are more social while cats are selectively social and this attitude of cats can be noticed within their own community. Cats always prefer to stay within their comfort zone and fit in only with friends who have similar personalities as them. It is quite interesting to mention that animals, for example, dogs and cats have the ability to express their feelings just with a “mew” or “bow-bow”. Even if they don’t utter a sound their body language and facial expression as well are enough to communicate their moods to their human friends. Humans indeed have a lot to learn from their pet friends in this regard. Their innocence and compassion are always heart-melting and worthy of pure love.
An essence of special attraction and bonding
At present, the country of Ukraine is going through a very pathetic situation due to war with its neighboring country. Many Indians, other nationalities, and even indigenous people of Ukraine are going through a very difficult situation. All including the indigenous ones are trying to escape from Ukraine in order to save their lives. A few fortunate ones have been able to return to their respective countries and many others are still stuck there. But what is most surprising is that even in this miserable situation two Indian students have refused to return to their homes without their pet dogs. In such a situation they are unable to produce the permission of taking their pets along with them. But despite that, they are worried for their dogs because if they leave without their dogs they might not be able to see them again. This is why they are ready to bear the risk of staying there. This is inspiring and heart-wrenching at the same time. This is the bond that the pets share with their owners. These are the perfect examples of true love and affection.
The Preference of Kinds of Pets
Pets can come in any shape or size but mostly the preferred ones are dogs and cats. Apart from dogs and cats, many people prefer rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, pigs, goats, cows, and a few more. Pets are useful in many ways and some pet owners earn their living with the help of their pets. The unusual pets sometimes people choose to keep are rats or mice, moles, frogs, insects, etc. But animals such as tortoises, foxes, jungle cats, etc which were earlier owned by people are now illegal to keep. But still in some regions of India people keep these animals as pets without being aware of the laws. Actually, laws regarding owning pets vary from country to country. But whatever the pets are they always tend to form a special bond with their owners.
Pets are good listeners than Humans
It is known to everyone that discussing personal problems with a trusted friend who is a good listener always lightens the mind. But it should be kept in mind that a human friend who is a good listener is also a speaker. Now here is the twist. A good listener might not always be a person who utters good words or gives proper advice. A person who is going through a stressful state of mind requires a friend who is empathetic. But a human friend does not always have all these qualities. A pet definitely does not answer back like a human friend but they are indeed very patient listeners. Sometimes a person suffering from tension and stress only requires expressing his or her feelings by speaking out. The words do not need to be perfect or appropriate. Talking with clarity itself is helpful. Such things always work better with pets than with human companions. There is no fear of getting judged by a pet. This is why they are more supportive and always surround their owners with unconditional love. Last but not least it should be remembered by everyone before owning a pet that having a pet only for personal interest does not work well. A pet owner has to take all the responsibilities of a pet just like a parent. The coexistence of pets and their owners with complete love and support should work both ways.
